Attention 8th graders interested in trying out for Topperette or Majorette for the 2016 Hilltopper Marching Band! Clinics will be held on April 25th, 26th, and 27th from 6-7:30 PM at CHS, and try outs will be on April 28th at 4 PM at CHS. Dance and twirling experience are needed! Being a part of these groups is a great way to make friends, join a group that interests you, get some exercise, and have a great time at football games! If you have any questions please see Miss Paroubek in the band room.
Reading skills are important and your help is needed to encourage Chardon’s youngest students to keep reading over the summer. All you need to do is meet with a 1st or 2nd grader for 6 – one hour sessions at the Chardon Library. If you are interested in getting involved in your community and would like to be a Chardon Library Book Buddy, please call the Chardon Library @ 285-7601 to volunteer. This is also an opportunity to earn Community Service hours! Please plan to attend one mandatory informational meeting at the Chardon Library on Monday, May 9 at 7:00 OR Tuesday, May 10 at 3:00.
Attention Chicago and Washington DC travelers: There will be parent meetings on Wednesday, April 27 in LGIR. The Chicago meeting will be at 6pm and the DC meeting will be at 7pm. Please plan to attend with your parents for last minute information about the trips.
The spring musical, Bullies Anonymous, is just around the corner. CMS Drama Club members will meet Thursday in room 200 . A special rehearsal is scheduled for Sat April 23 at Geauga Theater from 12:30- 3:00. Shows are on May 3 at 7pm and May 7 at 2 pm at the theater and open to the public, CMS Drama Club will perform for over 800 elementary students on May 6th. Drama club is excited to perform & spread their musical message to fight bullying to so many young students in our Chardon community.
There will be a SIXTH grade AHLI meeting today from 2:40-4:00 in the media center.
JTI Members and any other CMS Student who is interested! We need your help to be marshals during the Chardon 1/2 Marathon and 5K on May 1! You can earn volunteer hours, hang out with your friends and cheer on Mr. Pinckard as he runs the 1/2 marathon! See Mrs. Peppers for more information!
Boys and Girls fought hard against Kenston and Willoughby Tuesday. First place finishes included the boys 4x400 consisting of Tucker Keeney, Aidan Mackaskill, Nick Becker and Mikhail Hall; Alaina Sudnick in discus, Cooper Farrow in discus and Mila Stropkay in the 800 and 1600.
Thank you again to everyone for assisting with the dodgeball game last Friday. We were able to raise $425.75 for Marilyn's Voice! Thanks again to everyone or their participation and donations.
Attention 8th Graders, the last field trip offered for students will be Thursday, May 5th after testing.
